We are learning to talk about our artworks.

Print Making

We created images of robot and printed multiple copies.

We focused on using different shapes and creating texture in our prints.




Mackenzie selected this print as her favourite.
She wrote:
I created a pink and blue robot that has lots of texture and detail.
I like this print because I like the colours I used and the yellow makes the print look like a star.

We are learning to write a response.



K is for Kale

We headed down to the garden and harvested some kale.
We cooked kale chips. Read our responses.


 Aroha
Kale looks green.   Kale feels bumpy.   Kale smells like corn.

Flynn
Kale looks like long green grass.     Kale smells like sweet grass.

Kingsley
We cut the kale.       We put oil on it and put it on a tray.

Brianna
We made chips with the kale.

Krystal
I like the green kale chips.     They tasted crunchy.

Pippa
I cooked some kale chips.     I snipped the kale.     I had to put oil on them.

Skye
On Wednesday Ruma G made kale chips.   I have never made kale chips before.
I tasted them at school.  They tasted yummy.

Fletcher 
I like kale.   It is tasty.    It looks green.    It feels bumpy.     It smells like corn.    
We cooked it in the oven.

Mackenzie
The kale looks like fluffy green sheep.
It feels bumpy like the carpet.
It smells like yucky cow poo.
After we cooked the kale we ate the kale chips. They were nutritious.

We are learning to write a response.

The Fun Run – What was it like????




Zoe - I was proud because I did 5 laps around the whole school.

Thomas R – The good thing about the Fun Run was that everybody kept trying at it and that you didn’t just have to run.  I felt proud because I kept trying at it.

Kingsley – A good thing about our Fun Run was the chocolate because I was hungry.

Mackenzie – A good thing about the Fun Run as that Ridge kept encouraging me.  I felt happy doing the Fun Run because I got to do lots of Wacky Stuff.

Krystal - When I was running I stopped because I was hungry.
I liked the crackers because they were yum.

Brianna – I liked the wiggly lines because they were fun.

Fletcher – I ran around with my Mum.
I felt proud because I went 4 times around the school.

Jackie – I felt happy because Aroha helped me.  She walked beside me.

Flynn – I ran so fast I did not get puffed.
I felt so proud.

Pippa – I felt proud because I went 4 times and 3 times backwards.

Aroha – I felt incredibly proud because I helped my friends.

We are learning to record our ideas in Super Sentences.

Everybody picked the apples from the tree.     Krystal

We picked 71 apples and the other day 106, so that makes 177 apples!!    Skye

We cut and chopped the apples into little pieces.     Flynn

We are learning to discuss maths ideas - Lunchbox Maths


Lunchbox Maths

We unpacked the big boxes that were full of lunchboxes.
Before we opened the boxes we guessed how many lunchboxes would be inside.
We peeped inside and we noticed there were 6 on the top layer and 3 layers altogether.
Mackenzie calculated 6+ 6 is 12 and 6 more is 18.




We emptied all the lunchboxes and checked the number of lunchboxes..

We sorted the lunchboxes by colour.
There were the same number of blue and neon-red lunchboxes.
There were 8 green and purple lunchboxes.
We would need 4 more green lunchboxes to match the number of neon-red 
lunchboxes.

Our apple tree has a good crop of apples.
We thought of adjectives to describe our apples.
We created signs asking people to leave our apples - they are not quite ripe yet!
