We had a very special visitor to our school on Monday meet Gordy.

We made some decorated Easter eggs last week. Check out the cool patterns and designs they created.

Just a few pictures of different activities we do in Moana.

We had a fantastic sports day that Te Kinga class organized for the whole school.

We do lots of literacy games in Moana.

Some of the year 3s have been doing really fun maths learning about place value using tens and ones rods. They can make 2 and 3 digit numbers using the place value rods.

Today the students in Moana went on a field trip with the students of Kotuku.

We went to visit the old school in Kotuku.

The students were quite fascinated with the grounds and we talked a lot about what kind of school it was back in the day.

They came up with some very thoughtful ideas and we discussed what games the children might have played. It was suggested that they played knucklebones. So we came back to school played knuckle stones.

We have been thoroughly enjoying this beautiful weather. Especially our walks in the bush and swimming in the lake.

We are also doing lots of hard literacy and play based learning.

Numbers in Nature and Time in the Garden

Moana students made patterns and number representations out of natural materials today.

They also did some weeding and vegetable-hunting in the school garden!
